I messed up a page. Does enLighter Retriever have an undo feature?
Currently there are no undo operations.
That is, once you have performed a highlight, note or snapshot, it is fixed in your repository.
You will always be able to edit and/or delete markup to manually undo the mistakes that you made.
enLighter Retriever has plenty of built in safety valves to try to avoid messing up a page.
For example, enLighter Retriever prompts you for approval in cases where the action you are about to make will create non-reversible outcomes - as in the case of taking a snapshot with the toolbar off and inadvertently erasing all your mark-up.
We are working on adding new features to enLighter Retriever and are considering an undo feature.

Why is my highlight sometimes not being applied?
When a problem with the original source is detected, or a page has hidden scripts preventing highlights, the highlight function may not work properly. Sometimes taking a snapshot of the page first, then trying to highlight will overcome the page's corruption and allow you to annotate it.
Regardless, you can still snapshot and search on that page, just without any additions.

Why does my toolbar turn off on its own and not let me turn it back on?
Sometimes the page has errors in it that would corrupt any highlights and notes you may try to add. The toolbar's response to this is to not turn on at all, trying to avoid messy problems.
You should be able to take snapshots, though, so give that a try.
Once you leave the problematic page, you can turn enLighter on again.

Why does my toolbar turn off sometimes when I open a new browser?
There is an option to always have the toolbar off when a browser opens, but you may sometimes see this happen even when you do not have that option selected.
When you launch a new browser, the toolbar will only activate once all the browser's document management functions have completed.
Some version of IE do not send the message that these operations are done.
You may need to turn the toolbar on yourself after the page fully downloads.
